Local Information

Café Ceàrdach and Lochcarron Community Development Company are the official local partners with Visit Scotland to provide visitor information locally. The Café is ideally situated on the NC500 route for visitors to stop and find out more about this stunning and tranquil part of the North West Highlands.

The Café staff will be happy to talk to you and share their local knowledge about local businesses, amenities, walks, day trips, things to do and see to enjoy your stay in the Lochcarron area. We have wifi, maps and information leaflets to help you plan your trip.

At the Community run Smithy Hub alone we have plenty to keep everyone entertained, there is a small woodland walk with access to the river- Abhainn Bhuachaig- The Treehouse is a venue for hire & is perfect for private meetings, courses, functions or somewhere to relax with the family for a while. to book this email bookingthetreehouse@gmail.com.treehouse facebook
We also currently have two established local businesses,  Kiki’s Craft Corner is a treasure trove for the textile enthusiast, with everything that a quilter, spinner, knitter or textile crafts person could want. They also run workshops and courses, so contact them directly for prices and to discuss further.

The Pottery run by Vicky Stonebridge also runs pottery workshops and taster sessions, you can have a go on the potters wheel and have your creations posted onto you afterwards when they are fired- booking is required for this. She also has a wide range of pottery and art for sale, some examples you can see in use in Café Ceàrdach.

Directly from the Smithy hub there are easy walks down to River Carron and up into the steep sided Glen behind. It’s an ideal location to explore and get a delicious meal at the same time.

LCDC has produced a range of local information leaflets. You can download from the links below.
